摘要
High molecular weight linear polyethylene has been irradiated in the solid state by high energy electrons. The irradiated samples were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, solubility properties, and stress‐strain measurements. A failure mechanism is proposed for the observed embrittlement of the polymer. Copyright © 1969 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
