THE EFFECT OF HYDROPHOBIC CENTERS ON THE ELECTRODE SURFACE ON OVERVOLTAGE IN ELECTROCHEMICAL GAS EVOLUTION

摘要
Modification of the electrode surface of platinized platinum electrodes by a pattern consisting of a regular arrangement of PTFE sites causes a decline in the overvoltage of hydrogen evolution corresponding to a five-ten-fold increase in current density at constant overvoltage. The drop in total overvoltage equals the decrease in concentration polarization which is determined by gas supersaturation. © 1990.
