摘要
Microstructural evolutions during HDDR phenomena in Sm2Fe17 particles were observed by transmission electron microscopy. Sm2Fe17 compounds heat-treated over 510 degrees C in a H-2 atmosphere disproportionate into SmH2 and alpha-Fe phases with crystal relationships of alpha-Fe {110} parallel to SmH2 {111}. Recombination reactions were initiated by desorbing hydrogen from SmH2 phases, and alpha-Fe phases diffuse into SmH2 particles to form Sm2+deltaFe17 phases by recombination. Prolonged aging in vacuum forms Sm2Fe17 fine grains of 100-300 nm in diameter.
