摘要
The factors which are involved in the development of diabetes and obesity have been reviewed. These include the age of the individual, the duration and magnitude of the obesity, whether there is a family history of diabetes mellitus, the regional distribution of body fat, and the function of the pancreatic islet. These factors help in understanding the reasons why obesity poses such a high risk for developing diabetes mellitus. © 1990 Casa Editrice «il Ponte».
