COHERENT PHOTO-ETA PRODUCTION ON THE DEUTERON

摘要
The differential cross section of coherent photo-η production on the deuteron is calculated by using a resonance model including the S11(1535) and P11(1470) resonances. In addition to the impulse approximation terms, rescattering terms are taken into account. The effect of η-meson-propagating rescattering is shown to play a dominant role. The inclusion of this effect enables us to reproduce the experimental data without introducing too large a value of the isoscalar photo-excitation amplitude of S11. Thus, the anomaly reported by Anderson and Prepost has been removed. Another possibility to explain the experimental data is to invoke the working of the P11 resonance. With the present experimental data, we cannot exclude one explanation in favor of the other. © 1979.
