POSSIBLE IONIZATION INDUCED DEFECT GENERATION IN LAYERED CRYSTALS OF COPPER OXIDES

摘要
A brief description and analysis are given of a possible ionization induced defect generation, its mechanism, in layered crystals of copper oxides related to high-Tc superconductors. It is shown that the mechanism can be efficient and athermal, giving rise to production of oxygen vacancies (Frenkel pairs) which can be responsible for changes of the material properties. © 1990.
