摘要
In addition to our former investigations of the production of negative ions a Penning ion source with radial extraction was developed for utilisation with MP accelerators. A very great number of ion species can be produced by operating with gases or metallic vapours. The operating conditions were improved with respect to the lifetime of the source. The beam quality guarantees a transmission of the negative ions of 90% from the source to the injection into the accelerator. The intensities of the states of charge were measured with best stripper gas for several types of ions as listed in a table. © 1969.
