摘要
Cast iron substrata were exposed inside drinking water distribution pipes for selected time intervals and water temperature conditions. The rate of biofilm formation was related to a seasonal effect and possibly to flow velocity. The water temperature, bulk water heterotrophic plate count and disinfectant residual were the measured differences between the seasons. The highest rates of biofilm formation occurred during warm water conditions (15-25 degrees C).
