摘要：

Fabric patterns of quartz c axes in tension, compression and cold-rolling is predicted by the method of Calnan and Clews (1950, 1951). It is shown that there is a close similarity between this predicted cold-rolled fabric (prognosis) and the observed 'bc' girdles of quartz c axes (diagnosis) from natural rocks. A discussion on various assumptions in this treatment and on earlier explanations of 'bc' girdles is incorporated in this paper. © 1968.
