EVIDENCE FOR Y4 DEFORMATION IN 20NE AND OTHER S-D SHELL NUCLEI

摘要
The sign and magnitude of the haxadecapole deformation in Ne20 is determined from measurements of the inelastic scattering of 24.5-MeV protons. A coupled-channels analysis yields a value for 4 of + 0.28. A similar analysis of other available data in the s-d shell suggests a large hexadecapole deformation in Si28 (+0.25) and S32 (+0.25); Mg24 is found to have a Y4 moment close to zero. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
