摘要
A strong after-effect is observed in the positive photoplastic effect (PPE) on natural ZnS single crystals: the flow stress continues to increase after the light is turned off. This effect is related to the lifetime of photoexcitations. At the beginning the stress decay, described by an exponential law, is thermally activated and the time needed for the dislocation charge to return to its value in the darkness is particularly long (several hundred seconds). Illumination during stress relaxation tests points towards the existence of long-lifetime excitations, but strain ageing disturbs the experiments. A dynamic model of dislocation charge is discussed in view of the experimental results.
