DELAYED NEUROTOXICITY OF ORTHO-(2,4-DICHLOROPHENYL) ORTHO-ETHYL PHENYLPHOSPHONOTHIOATE (S-7)

Administration of a single oral dose of S-Seven [O-(2,4-dichlorophenyl) O-ethyl phenylphosphonothioate], between 800 and 5000 mg kg, caused delayed neurotoxicity in hens similar to that reported for other organophosphorus compounds. The severity of the clinical condition depended on the size of the ingested dose. Hens given small doses showed only ataxia, while some of those treated with large doses became paralyzed and died. © 1979.
