THE EXCITED-STATE DIPOLE-MOMENT OF NITROBENZENE ESTIMATED FROM SOLVENT SPECTRAL FREQUENCY-SHIFTS

摘要
The excited-state dipole moment of nitrobenzene has been estimated to be 33.7 x 10(-30) C m from solvent spectral frequency shifts. This value agrees well with that ((31.7 +/- 3.3) x 10(-30) C m) determined from an electrooptical absorption measurement.
