摘要
The combination of baker's yeast reductions of beta-keto carbonyls, vinyl triflate formation and a palladium-catalysed, intramolecular, carbonylative coupling affords optically active a-methylene gamma-butyrolactones. The synthesis of the unnatural (+)mintlactone using this methodology is also described.
