SOME PERPENDICULAR BANDS OF SILYL AND GERMYL ACETYLENES MH3CCR

Fine structure due to overall or unrestricted internal rotation in the infrared-active perpendicular bands of the title compounds associated with motions of the MH3 groups has been analyzed, providing a wealth of basic information concerning the structures and motions of these portions of the molecules. In all cases the parameters derived from the analysis are very similar to the values found in simple silyl or germyl halides. Fermi perturbations affect several bands, and analyses of these are presented. © 1979.
