摘要
Infrared spectra and thin-layer chromatograms were measured for the structural study of superionic conducting glasses in the system AgI-Ag2O-P2O5. The glasses with a mole ratio of Ag2O/P2O5 = 3 or 2 consist of Ag+, I-, and PO43- or P2O74- ions only. The molar volume of these glasses is primarily controlled by the dense packing of the constituent anions. Glasses having other mole ratios contain polyphosphate structural units expected from their chemical compositions. The proportion of ring phosphates is negligible. Partial covalency between silver and oxygen ions is noted from the peak shift of the infrared absorption bands. © 1979 American Chemical Society.
