摘要
When a 1:1:1:2 mixture of Bi2O3, BiOCl, CsCl and CaCl2 is heated for 12 h in an open alumina or platinum container at 1073 K a new type of compound is formed. The predominant crystalline product contains single crystals suitable for structural analysis using conventional X-ray diffractometric techniques. This product (idealized formula Cs2Bi10Ca6Cl12O16) posseses attractive properties as a catalyst for the selective oxidation of methane in O2 (CH4:O2=2:1, partial pressure of CH4 20 kPa, total flow rate 50 mL m-1 with N2 as diluent up to atmospheric pressure in the temperature range 873 to 1023 K).
