摘要
A new technique is described for detecting fission-fragment tracks in thin foils of polycarbonate plastic (Makrofol). First, a sodium hydroxide solution is used to selectively etch away the damaged material along the track, producing microscopic holes through the foil. Then, a spark gap is used as a fast scanning device for detecting the holes and enlarging them to a size visible to the unaided eye. © 1969.
