摘要
A new finish for cotton fabric which imparts high oil repellency with low water repellency is described. The finish is based on the reaction of tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)-phosphonium chloride and 1,1-dihydroperfluorooctylamine and is applied from aqueous emulsions with a gaseous ammonia cure. The emulsion is suitable for simultaneous application with a typical permanent-press agent to obtain wrinkle-recovery properties. In soiling tests, certain of the soiling properties of the finish showed an improvement over commercially used fluorocarbon treatments in the range of add-ons studied. © 1969, SAGE Publications.
