Resistivity measurements have been carried out on e-manganese and some of its transition metal alloys between 2 and 273 K. A resistance minimum, a notable characteristic of alpha-manganese, has been observed in agreement with other workers and found to be very dependent on a second constituent in alpha-manganese. The temperature T-min at which the resistance minimum occurs was shifted to lower values by lower valency additions, chromium and vanadium, and to higher values by higher valency additions, iron, cobalt, and nickel, and also by rhenium with the same valency as manganese. A discontinuity in the temperature coefficient of the resistance has also been observed in some of our samples at a temperature a little higher than T-min.
