摘要
Georgescu-Roegen's Fourth Law of Thermodynamics ("complete recycling of matter is impossible") is not consistent with the framework of physical laws. It strongly disagrees both with the experience gained in the study of biological and geological systems and with some fundamental issues of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. The degradation of matter and its environmental and economical consequences are fully consistent with the Second Law. © 1993.
