摘要
During a 5 year period more than 5000 individual cod specimens have been collected from the Barents Sea and spawning sites in northern Norway, and have been classified for otolith type and haemoglobin genotype. The results demonstrate a close correspondence to earlier results obtained almost 25 years ago, suggesting stability of haemoglobin variation in time and space. Correlation analyses reveal a strong correlation (0.946) between HbI2 frequency and Arctic cod otolith characteristics, offering haemoglobin analyses at early cod stages as reliable classification of offspring from Arctic cod spawning.
