A new low-energy 29-state R-matrix calculation including the n less-than-or-equal-to 5 states of neutral helium is reported. The 1(1)S-2(3,1)S transitions are re-examined and we show that the close-coupling expansion has converged for these transitions below the ionization threshold. In addition, collision strengths for transitions from the ground state to n = 4 states are presented for the first time.
