摘要
Deuterium oxide was found to affect the allosteric properties of glutamic dehy-drogenase in the following manner: (1) The polymer form was stabilized against dissociation by NADH in D2O; (2) The inactive monomer appeared to be stabilized. GTP was more inhibitory and ADP was less stimulatory in D2O; (3) The presence of D2O was found to protect the enzyme against the irreversible denaturation caused by dilution at low ionic strengths. While GTP speeded up this denaturation in H2O, it did not increase the slow denaturation rate in D2O, thus adding to the evidence that D2O stabilizes the inactive monomer. © 1969.
