Existence of resonances in the hydrogen Stark effect has recently been demonstrated. For any given value of the electric field strength there are no resonances below -2Z2 and with width smaller than 2 square root 3Z2. Furthermore, if epsilon = Gamma / mod Re(E) mod is the ratio of width to energy then for epsilon small there are no resonances with Re(E) below -8/9Z2(1+ epsilon /2 square root 3+O( epsilon 2)).
