THE ORIGIN OF THE HIGHER CONTINUA EMITTED BY THE RARE-GASES

摘要
The fluorescence spectra observed after the excitation of the rare gases (Rg) by ionizing radiation consist of several continua. Using a Rittner potential the higher continua are assigned to the radiant decay of the species Rg(2)(2+) and Rg(3)(2+) into the final states Rg(+)(p(3/2)) + Rg(+)(p(3/2), p(1/2)) and Rg(2)(+) ((2) Sigma, (2) Pi) + Rg(+)(p(3/2), p(1/2)). respectively.
