摘要
Alkali metal oxides supported on silica have been studied as catalysts for the oxidative coupling of methane with and without the addition of small quantities of carbon tetrachloride (TCM) to the feedstream. Lithium and cesium show the most significant improvements in conversion and selectivity to C2-hydrocarbons on addition of TCM. The effect of the preparative anion, residence time, catalyst loading and reactant composition is studied with supported lithium oxide. A semi-quantitative explanation for the different behaviours of the alkali metals is offered. © 1990.
