摘要：

A simple mechanical model for the dynamic buckling of elastic, imperfection-sensitive structures under step loading is proposed. The model equations are solved by use of a singular perturbation technique. Estimates are thereby obtained for the dynamic buckling strengths of a wide class of structures. These estimates are compared with the results of a separate analysis of spherical shells under a step loading of external pressure. © 1969 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc., All rights reserved.
