摘要
Phosphorus removal by the activated algae process was studied in laboratory scale under various conditions of hydraulic loading. Phosphorus removal ranged from 70% at 4 h hydraulic retention time, to 95% at 12 h hydraulic retention time. Chemical precipitation was found to be the predominant mechanism for phosphorus removal. An optical device for introducing light to the process was used which, based on theoretical consideration, significantly increases the efficiency of light utilization by algae cultures. © 1979.
