SOLVENT EFFECT IN SUPERCRITICAL FLUIDS - KETO ENOL EQUILIBRIA OF ACETYLACETONE AND ETHYL ACETOACETATE

摘要
The keto-enol equilibria for acetylacetone and ethyl acetoacetate were measured in supercritical fluids of various densities by use of NMR spectroscopy. In polar supercritical fluid, the keto form with the larger dipole moment was found to be more favorable. However, the change in the equilibrium with increasing fluid density was quite minor. This unexpected result may suggest that the enthalpy gain caused by the increasing solvation is cancelled by the entropy decrease of the whole system. © 1990.
