ORIENTATION AND ALIGNMENT EFFECTS IN H+-NA COLLISIONS

摘要
We present a study of orientation and alignment effects in H+-Na(3s) collisions at intermediate to high impact energy. New 19-state calculations have been carried out within the atomic basis impact parameter method with special emphasis on the model description of the interactions and the atomic states involved in the scattering events. The discussion is focused on Na(3p) excitation and H(2p) capture channels. The conclusions drawn in this letter support the extension of propensity rules for orientation proposed in a previous introductory study by the authors.
