摘要
Investigations of phase transformations of supersaturated solid solutions demonstrate that a polymorphous amorphization of the crystalline phase, the so-called inverse melting, does occur in the Ti-Cr system. However, this phenomenon is only observed in a small composition range around 55 at.% Cr. The particular thermodynamic and kinetic requirements for inverse melting are described by using the Ti-Cr system as an example.
