ANALYSIS OF EXTINCTION THROUGH AMNESIA

Trained 174 naive male albino Sprague-Dawley rats on an appetitive maze habit 6 days before an intraperitoneal injection of physostigmine that was given just before retest (or reversal). Extinction was interpolated at various times before retest (or reversal). Results indicate that extinction is a separately learned habit that opposes the original habit.
