摘要
Changes in the intrinsic food reserves and dry weight of third stage Ancylostoma caninum larvae aged for 20 days were determined. Proteins accounted for approximately 51% of the initial dry weight of the larvae, carbohydrates 10%, and lipids 39%. Total dry weight of the larvae decreased 32% in 20 days. The loss is accounted for by decrease in lipids (27%) proteins (7%) and carbohydates (3%). The rate of decrease was not linear and the greatest loss occurred during the first week. These results give quantitative support to the hypothesis that lipids are the primary food reserves of the free living nematode larvae. © 1969.
