Anaesthetic levels (30 per cent) of carbon dioxide produced 72 per cent inhibition of in vitro gut succinic dehydrogenase of Heliothis zea. At the 15 per cent level of CO2, competitive inhibition of the enzyme is demonstrated. © 1968.
