PARITY VIOLATION IN ATOMIC BISMUTH

摘要
The results of a new run of measurements of parity violation in atomic bismuth in the 4S 3 2-2D 5 2 MI-transition at λ=648 nm are presented. The value R= Im( E1 M1) measured for the F=6→F′=7 and F=6→F′=6 hyperfine structure components is found to be (-20.6±3.2)×10-8. The average value for all our measurements, 〈R〉=(-20.2±2.7)×10-8, is in agreement with the theoretical prediction obtained in the framework of the standard gauge model with sin2θ=0.25. © 1979.
