摘要：

Various aspects of the growth rate of the neutron activation analysis method are discussed. The 1936-1944, 1944-1950, 1950-1960, 1960-1970, and 1970-1991 periods are discussed - the early ones in terms of major advances that occurred at the beginning of the period. Recent/present levelling-off of the growth rate, and future prospects of the NAA method, are also considered.
