LOCALIZED RESONANCES IN CH3F AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON VIBRATIONAL ENERGY-TRANSFER

摘要
We report in this paper a part of the interpretation of the high resolution (0.005 cm-1) spectrum of CH3F near 3000 cm-1. The KΔK = 6-11 subbands of ν4 show local resonances which are proved to be due to a Coriolis interaction with the very weak 3ν3 band. This fact explains why excitation of CH3F by a CO2 laser very quickly populates not only the υ3 = 2 and υ3 = 3 levels but also the υ4 = 1 level and, through other interactions, all levels near 3000 cm-1. © 1979 American Chemical Society.
