COMPARATIVE DEGRADATION OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC RESIDUES BY DIFFERENT FUNGI

摘要
A comparative study of degradation of wheat straw and pine wood sawdust was carried out using the fungal cultures Coriolus hirsutus, Daedalea flavida, Polystictus sanguineus, Daldinia concentrica and Postia placenta in an attempt to find an efficient lignin decomposer for each substrate. Coriolus hirsutus and Daedalea flavida were the best decomposers in terms of total weight loss as well as lignin loss in wheat straw and pine wood sawdust, respectively. On both the substrates Polystictus sanguineus was the best laccase producer.
