摘要
A novel principle of waveguides for microwave transmission is proposed, which is based on drift and diffusion of carriers (electrons) in a semiconductor slab bounded by isotype homojunctions. In striking contrast to usual waveguides for electromagnetic radiation, the present waveguides support only the longitudinal electric field. The effective dielectric constant is proportional to the concentration of ionized donors. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.
