摘要
Theoretical models for the recurrent nova U Sco are identified and discussed. We examine, in particular, the possible relevance of disk instability models when account is taken of the helium-rich character of the material observed in the disk in quiescence. Even with the assumption of a pure helium disk, we are led to conclude that it is extremely unlikely that the outbursts of U Sco (and the very similar recurrent nova V394 CrA) are attributable to a disk instability.
