摘要
During a systematic study of the gold‐rich side of the Au‐Mg system a new phase with approximate composition Au15Mg4 is discovered using a combination of electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy. The new monoclinic structure can be described as a two‐dimensional long period superstructure of the DO22 phase, the antiphase boundaries forming an angle of 115.35°. It is stable in the temperature range between 400 and 280 °C. At lower temperatures it evolves into a two‐dimensional long period antiphase boundary structure presumably of the Au3+Zn‐type.
