CALCULATION OF MOMENTUM-TRANSFER CROSS SECTION OF ELECTRONS IN CESIUM VAPOUR FROM DRIFT-VELOCITY MEASUREMENTS

摘要
The electron energy distribution function has been solved numerically from the Boltzmann equation in the Lorentz approximation. Elastic and inelastic electron-atom collisions have been taken into account. From the energy distributions the drift velocities of the electrons have been calculated. By comparing these velocities with the measured ones by means of a trial and error method values of the momentum-transfer cross section for electron-atom collisions have been obtained. © 1969.
