摘要
The hydrogen evolution reaction (h.e.r) has been investigated in 3 M KOH on nickel-cobalt alloys, electrodeposited with and without heteropolyacids (HPAs) such as PMo12O403-. It was observed that the electrodes deposited with HPAs exhibited higher exchange current density (i0) and lower overpotential (eta) than those electrodeposited without HPAs. This significant improvement in the electrocatalytic activity for the h.e.r was attributed to the chemical composition of the electrodes. It was also shown that the h.e.r mechanism is affected by the chemical composition of the electrode.
