摘要：

The paper describes a way in which flow records can be extended using a mathematical model and meterological data. The model chosen for the project represents the hydrological cycle in a deterministic way using seven types of storage: snow, interception, upper soil, lower soil, transitional groundwater, groundwater and minor channels. The runoff from these storages is then routed through the river channels. The application described is the extension of the flow record of the River Severn near Gloucester in the United Kingdom.
