摘要
The sound velocity and attenuation of Corprene DC 100, a polychloroprene cork composite, were measured by means of impedance tube techniques. The temperature was varied from 4° 30°C, frequency from 8 40 kHz, and pressure from 100 2000 psi. The density, modulus, and sound velocity were then modeled as a function of composition by using a series model for composite materials. From this, it was demonstrated that, as the pressure is increased, the Corprene changes nonlinearly from a cork dominated to rubber dominated material. It was also shown that this nonlinear change in the properties of Corprene leads to its failure to perform satisfactorily as an acoustic decoupling material. © 1969, Acoustical Society of America.
