摘要
Thermal expansion coefficients, α = ( 1 l)( dl dT), of single crystalline CeInCu2 have been measured from 4.2 to 300 K by means of strain gauge method. The α is measured along the [1 0 0] and [1 1 0] directions. It is found that the α of both directions is very large at low temperatures below about 100 K compared with that of LaInCu2 which has no 4f electron. Since there is no large difference in the magnitude of α(T) among the [1 0 0] and [1 1 0] directions, the thermal expanssion is isotropic. The results are discussed in connection with crystalline electric field splitting of the Ce3+ ion and those of other heavy fermion materials. © 1990.
