Xe-129-NMR of adsorbed xenon is of increasing interest for studying the physical properties of solids: cavity or channel dimensions; short-range crystallinity; nature of structural defects, polymer heterogeneity, etc. This review, which does not claim to be exhaustive, gives a critical account of the Various ways of using this technique for studying the porosity of solids.
