Reactions of [Ru(eta-5-C5Me5)(PPri3)(H)(eta-2-CH2=SiPh2)] with hydrosilanes occur via initial migration of hydride to the silene ligand, and eventually give disilyl hydride or silyl dihydride ruthenium(IV) complexes; the 16-electron chloride [Ru(eta-5-C5Me5)(PPri3)Cl] adds mesityl (Mes) silane to give [Ru(eta-5-C5Me5)(PPri3)(H)2(SiHClMes)] which was crystallographically characterized.
