Standard intelligence tests are a method of assessment which are widely used. Critics of such tests point out that they are time-consuming to administer and that the attitude of the administrator may affect the testee's performance. This paper describes a unit, based on a slide projector, that will administer multiple-choice tests automatically. The logic, incorporated in the control unit, scores the tests and displays the results. The equipment has been demonstrated to be convenient and reliable in use and the results shown to be entirely comparable with the usual book method of administration. © 1979 Informa UK Ltd All rights reserved: reproduction in whole or part not permitted.
